Painting, a Birthday , Christmas and a Dr Suess tree!

First coat of magnetic paint in Daughter 1 's bedroom. She is 15 and has decided that the fairies and pale pink walls have to go!

The first top coat of blackboard paint over the magnetic paint with a test of wall colour beside it.

The Christmas tree goes up a little over a week ago.

Mags  getting the Christmas Spirit.

Daughter 3 's 11th  Birthday was held at Lazer Strike.
Daughter 4 bears a remarkable resemblance to the poster girl!

11 Cupcakes for the Birthday Girl

IT guy testing the new barbecue last weekend.

More cupcakes!

I hope you have enjoyed a peek at some of the activities that have been happening in my house over the last week or two. I can see that I need to seriously improve  my photographic abilities!

Here is an 'Arty ' shot since no blog is complete without some. This is the first of a series I am going to call Dr Suess trees as they look like they came straight from 'Whoville ' or similar! Not sure what type of tree it is though growing underneath it are some Mamaku ferns

First week in December

Hi Everyone, Have had a busy week. Made our Christmas Cake ( thanks Sarah for lending me a tin and giving me the yummy recipe!), some chutney, usual baking etc. and started redecorating daughter no 1 's bedroom. We are painting one of the walls with magnetic paint and then over painting with blackboard paint. Pictures to follow soon I hope. Daughter no 2 is away on camp.
I have spent a little time in the studio - working on some Christmas presents so I can't post pictures yet.
In the mean time I have learnt how to post videos from You-Tube to my blog ! (Am quite proud of myself).
This is one of my favourite clips. You may have already seen it.  Enjoy.

First Blog

Hi Everyone , Well I've been a bit slow starting this blog. Those of you who know me will know I broke my wrist earlier this year which kind of slowed down all my crafting. I am slowly on the road to recovery ! I'm hoping to post at least once a week or so to show what I've been up to - things I have been making and if I have any markets or finally have some things to sell in my etsy shop! If you are in the neighbourhood I have a few handmade books on show and for sale at the Feilding craft show from the 8th to the 28th of November.
